rambling

I seriously have issues coming up with a title for posts...so I think this will just be called rambling :)

20071110_christmas_crafts_001

this is a little shadow box art thingie that I made (somewhat inspired by another circle art framed piece by my friend Jennifer Lessinger) using some of the stuff in Becky's new Holiday Card Kit of the Month. It's an awesome kit, the instructions for all the cards are so easy to follow, but you can also completely create your own stuff with the products included. I just took a circle punch the same size as one of the chipboard elements, punched some circles from a coordinating card, adhered them to a blue cardstock background and have a clean simple piece of holiday art :)

And, speaking of things creative, Garden bloomed at 2Peas and it is full of so many great things :) I love shopping off of everyone's projects, I end up seeing things that I never would have purchased if I'd just seen it on a shelf somewhere. There were so many awesome projects and the artices are always so good. I especially loved the sticker letter article as I have collected so many and have recently lifted my self imposed ban on any letter that isn't my own :) and now it's time to start using them :)

For me, I created some things for this midmonth and my favorite was this:

a wreath that hangs on the front door. My son asked why it's up, since it's not even December yet. I told him it's ok, it snows early here :) I guess I will have to wait until after Thanksgivng to get any of my decorations for Christmas out :) Good thing that's next week...YIKES. next week.

Last month I cleaned my office...well, not completely, but I got pretty close. And in doing that I sat and went through some of my old boxes of photos in preparation for this month's blurry photo theme. And I discovered a whole lot of photos that I really loved. Not the perfect photos, or the artistic ones, but the ones that told stories. The ones of my kidlets when they were tiny. I saw Max in the photos of Jac, who was just three...it's amazing that they are so similar and I didn't realize it. And Claire. She's older, but she's still got the same expressions. So I've started using older photos more now and I love it. They aren't great photos, but they still have a story to be told. And I need to see them. The kids need to see them.

Time to pick up my oldest...but at least I've posted now and my brother in law can get off my case :)

Just stumbled here - LOVE the "Let it Snow" wreath - so many applications. Trying to think of an application for a scrapbook page (have already tried to sketch some ideas based on the wreath idea, with varying themes ... "Blessings", "Treasures", etc.
Thank you so much,
